Graffiti grows in Hartford

(Diane Ravitch versified)
-- by Some DAM Poet

Graffiti high up on the wall
Says “Schools are not a business”
“But public good for one and all”
Though some have clearly missed this

From A Damthology of Deform -- a collection of poems about so-called school "reform" -- which can be viewed, printed and/or downloaded by clicking here  (on google drive)
A second volume "Damthology of Deform (2)" can be viewed here  (also on googledrive)

The above is a versification of the words of education historian Dr. Diane Ravitch, spray-painted on a wall in Hartford, CT.
"Schools are not businesses. They are a public good"
which, in a nutshell, is why current education "reform" in the United States is so misguided.

"Tools or Jewels?"

Public schools are public jewels
A common public good
They aren't simply business tools
But for the neighborhood

Horatio is a good friend, in case you were wondering.
